Melody owes her trim figure to competitive dancing, and she says it’s as good for the soul as it is for the body. “No matter how I’m feeling, as long as I put on my dance shoes and step into the dance studio, my mood is lifted. It’s my form of escapism,” she says. “I feel like myself when I’m on the dance floor, and I guess that’s also why I always inject that sort of glamour and sensuality into my dressing.” There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to what Melody wears, and she says it mostly depends on her mood, but her usual staples include playsuits, maxi dresses, and midi skirts. (“With heels, of course.”) Her job allows her to experience different environments, handle different challenges, and meet different people, and Melody loves the magnitude and diversification that it allows her. Of course, having flexible working hours is another plus point. A strong believer in determination and dedication, both on and off the dance floor, Melody says her motto in life is: “If you want respect, earn it.”
